Angkor wat Buddhist Temple Paintings
Since the dawn of time, monks have gathered to worship Buddha. Carpenters, masons, and sculptors constructed the most beautiful of all religious monuments, Angkor Wat.
The people adored the temple that the King had erected to show his love for Buddha. The King no longer desired to rule his people. He wanted to live out his days in peace with Buddha. His son became king and created a golden statue of Buddha at the center of Angkor Wat for all generations to see.
No one remembered who he was or what he looked like anymore because there was something about him they couldn't put their finger on, they just knew he was there for them in their darkest hour. A place where they could go to lay themselves on the ground before Buddha's feet and seek refuge from life's challenges.
A place where they could leave behind what they knew as security - fearing that it no longer existed - and find a inspiring peace in an ending.
